Baylor’s Book Club: June & July Picks

This is our second post for Baylor’s Book Club! Every few months I pick a few books that Baylor has especially loved to share with you in hopes to grow your child’s collection and interest in books, too. Below are our top picks for June and July! All of the books will be linked in the title. :)

This book was given to us from a fellow teacher friend for Baylor’s baby shower. It has been a favorite as of late, with Baylor’s growing interest in animals and board books. This is such a sweet story! It is great when learning about haircuts and going through that experience for the first time with a little one.

This touch and feel book uses rhyming and colorful illustrations to keep your baby interested the whole way through. It is a short and sturdy book with felt teeth on each page featuring different animals and silly snacks they should never eat. Great for little babies and toddlers.

Are you sensing a theme? Llamas have been all the rage with kids the last several years. So on trend. If you haven’t read this one yet, are you living under a rock? Just kidding, if you haven’t, you need to and also hear Ludacris perform a rap freestyle inspired by this one!

4. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: A Colors Primer

This stylish and cute board book is here to prep your little guy or gal about all different colors featuring scenes, characters, and quotes from the classic, The Wizard of Oz. There is minimal text in this one which allows baby to focus on colors and details in the illustrations.

On the learning colors theme, this board book also features touch and feel pages using felt to cover up your favorite characters from Blue’s Clues & You! Baylor has been especially obsessed with this show lately so I knew I had to pick it up when I saw it. They have it at Costco if you have one near you, or I have linked it above from Target.
