a bit about me & my family
Hi there! My name is Malorie Beard and I am from bright and sunny Arizona. I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Elementary Education. I never imagined I would be out of the classroom just 4 years into my professional career. I became a first time stay-at-home mom in the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. I expected to go back to work right away, but under the circumstances, daycare plans falling through, and so on, I found my new normal. It has ultimately been huge adjustment going from teaching 30 kids in a room to caring for 1 tiny human with almost no support.
My passion for teaching is still ever so present but I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to not go back to work after all. I am privileged to get to stay home with my new bestie. I am teaching him young about all of the most important things in life - yes, Taylor Swift IS the music industry, ranch belongs on pizza, and don’t worry, that person DOES in fact have a face like us under that mask. Quarantine babies are on maybe an even steeper learning curve than first-time quarantine moms, but we’ve got this. More baby snuggles for me!
My husband Matt is an entrepreneur and has inspired me to take on my own project in this new phase of our lives together. We have one son, Baylor, and two hyper corgis named Millie and Murphy. Follow along with us on our adventures and as I write about all things millennial lifestyle, fun and fresh kid’s activities, thoughts on life and motherhood from an education standpoint, and navigating the most important job out there, being a stay-at-home mom.
