Updated Daily Routine with a Two Year Old
Hey everyone! I have missed you!
It has been a MINUTE since I have blogged. I have SO enjoyed interacting with you on Instagram and reels. Today I wanted to update you on what Baylor and I’s daily routine looks like. As we are approaching 2 years ole in a month, we have changed things up some since a year ago.
Here is our our typical day to day goes:

10:15 - Workout for an hour to hour and a half
11:45 - Pick up B from gym daycare
12: 15 - Eat lunch
12:30 - Read a book and wind down

3:15 - Afternoon snack
4:00 - Some type of outside time or activity while it is cool, like the park or playing with the dog
5:00 - Make dinner - B has been helping me out in his toddler stool

8:30 - Say goodnight and put down for bed
A schedule has been incredibly important for our sanity during the day! Baylor thrives off of routine, much like I do. I think being able for him to know what is coming next in the day make him feel safe and secure.
I make sure to make activities predictable by talking to Baylor as if he is my peer and explaining what we are doing throughout the whole day. Things like..
“Okay, right now we are going to take Blu on a walk, and then we are going to get in the car”
“We have 2 more minutes to read and then it’s time for a nap!”
“You can slide down the slide 3 more times and then it’s time to go.”
“Once you sit in your chair you can have a popsicle.”
“We are going to play at the gym. I will be back to get you soon.”
“Gigi is coming to see you. You guys will have so much fun together!”
Again, it is so important for our toddlers to be able to process what is going on in their day. They do not have control over their schedule or the events that happen during the day, so making it a comfortable routine keeps them in a more calm state in my experience. I also believe that talking through everything with Baylor has helped him pick up SO many words! It is crazy to hear him say phrases I use all the time now!
With that being said, yes with unpredictable events he might behave unpredictably. Thats understandable! This is just our typical day to day. We are starting to approach Baylor experiencing some big feelings without having all the words to communicate them. Big Little Feelings on Instagram has been a lifesaver so far!
I hope this schedule provided some value to you in some way. maybe helping to give some structure to your day! Stay tuned for all the wedding details (I am in 3 weddings this season) and Baylor’s TWO-REX birthday party details!
Love you all!
XOXO
